• Calais's Notre-Dame Church

    The Notre-Dame de Calais church dates from the 14th and 16th centuries. It has been classified as a historic monument since September 13, 1913.

    The Nore-Dame church in Calais which celebrated the marriage in 1920 of Yvonne Vendroux and Charles de Gaulle, then a captain returning from a mission in Poland. The Notre-Dame de Calais church is unlike any other church in France. Tudor style, it is the only religious building built in the English perpendicular style and its bell tower is in the center of the building
